Abrasive blasting preparation
A preparation process for removing old coatings and bonded deposits from suitable surfaces. The substrate, surrounding areas and subsequent coating plan are assessed together.

Check suitability before blasting
Abrasive blasting is not a cleaning method to apply identically to every surface. The substrate, existing coating and deposit type determine the approach. Delicate or thin areas may need different preparation. The working zone, surrounding components requiring protection and subsequent paint or protective coating are assessed in advance. The aim is preparation for an appropriate next stage, rather than unnecessary abrasion of the material.
Controlled surface preparation
For suitable areas, the blasting medium and working conditions follow the task requirements. Surrounding parts are protected while the process is controlled and the resulting surface monitored. Cleaning and readiness for the next coating are checked afterwards. Blasting does not replace lost metal or reverse structural damage. Any problems revealed by the work need assessment before moving on to painting or another treatment.
Maintain care around actual use
After marine surface work, regular condition checks remain important. Salt deposits, sunlight, contact and cleaning habits can influence the result. Ask your dealer to explain the treated areas, appropriate care products and any conditions before returning the vessel to use. If new marks, wear or damage appear, reassessment is preferable to aggressive treatment and helps identify a suitable next step for that surface.
